Photo of Daniel Socek Dr. Daniel Socek is a research assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and a researcher at CoreTex Systems LLC. He earned Master's degree in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Daniel's other affiliations include the Center for Cryptology and Information Security and the Center for Coastline Security Technology at FAU. He was involved in cryptology and security research since his undergraduate days at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL), where he obtained Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. His current research is focused on a number of topics from Biometrics, Cryptography, Multimedia Security, and Image/Video Analysis.

Daniel Socek is an academic descendant of Arthur Cayley and Sir George Darwin according to the Mathematics Genealogy Project.
